Mazda Strutbar

Should I spend the $135 to add mazda strut bar? For the people who have added it, what do you think about the increase in steering response?

No, you should get a corksport, ractive, OBX, or another strut bar.
The Mazda strutbar is over priced IMO

It strut bar is a good mod too. You WILL feel a change.

the only mods i have done are the strut tower bar and the kartboy bushings and neither mod seems to make a significant difference......I should have saved my money and bought sideskirts instead.

Its controversial on how much you notice them, but I would think a fatter swaybar would make more of a noticable difference, unless you are one of those guys that claim you can feel more power after dropping off your 25lb bag of groceries and switching to a different brand of oil...

Unless your car is equipped with cruise control, in which case you would have to be stupid to choose a bar other than the Mazda bar, which is $99US from mazdastuff.

Third party bars are not designed with cruise control in mind. In fact, the Ractive bar is designed to replace the factory bar in the Protege5 only - you have to leave the passenger-side mounting plate in place.

Actually,NO...you'll have to be lazy.

I have a corksport bar and I also have cruise control. All you have to do to make any other strut bar fit is shave down the cruise control bar a little. Only takes like 5mins away from the total time of the project. It's not a big deal.

Plus the corksport is only $60 and it seems to be thicker than Mazda's bar.

I shall rephrase: Unless you want to start carving **** up, or buying factory parts to relocate the CC, you'll want the bar that is actually designed to fit the car.

I understand where you coming from, but buying an aftermarket strut bar isn't that much of a problem. You grind the metal down smoothy for 3-5mins, then put the bar on as normal.

Its a way to save money. I rather save $30 instead of 5 minutes of installation time, but thats just me.

That extra $30 can be used for other things like gas, a 16 piece at KFC, and a **** rental from Blockbuster.

Yeah, that's what I said, "carving **** up". It's not rocket science to make it fit, but If I had to choose between bars, I would pay the $30 extra for a part that is designed to fit, given that it is available.

$30 for a **** rental?? I though all **** was downloaded...
