im confused ..

what exactly do i need to "drop" my car? i know on ebay they sell coilovers and springs .. but are they reliable? my friend said that you should buy name-brand springs because the generic ones lose theire "springiness" after a while. they come w/ a lifetime warranty though ! one more thing .. will dropping my car void my warranty? thanks !

Cheap-*** springs will often sag, but I'd be more concerned about the fact that they may not fit and/or may make your car ride and handle like crap. General rule of thumb for modifying cars: NEVER, EVER buy cheap-***, no-name speed parts on Ebay! There are a tremendous number of hucksters on Ebay who sell worthless junk. DON'T buy Ebay springs unless they are a name brand (Eibach. H&R, Progress, Tein, etc.) And remember that "lifetime warranties" are only as good as the company offering them.

Springs will probably void the warranty on most suspension parts, particularly the shocks. However, it's illegal in most places for a car company to void your warranty on one portion of the car because of an aftermarket part installed on another portion- i.e. they can't void your engine warranty because of your springs.

they also cant void your engine warranty because of a new exhaust or intake as long as they didn't cause the problem. Stuff like cams or new pistons will totally void the engine warranty though.
