How Much Time?

Im finally installing my Tein SS setup tomorrow afternoon. I have access to a lift and all, im just wondering about how much time i should set aside for this? I havent done them before, but i think i have a fairly good idea about what to expect. And anything to take special care with or advice? thanks for the help.

Are you doing this yourself? 'Cuz it'll be a bitch if you are. You really need two people when you install the new springs to make sure they are seated correctly.
It took us about four hours to do mine, including one trip to a parts store.
But my car was only about five months old at the time and all the bolts (including the endlinks) were almost completly rust-free.
You should spray everything with PB Blaster or something similar the night before if you can
It will help.
Good luck, post some pics after...

Yeah, i want to do it myself. I have access to a full auto shop, so im not worried about tools or anything. I was under my car just earlier this week doing the exhaust and there was very little rust, but i was planning on spraying anyway just in case. I should be able to get someone to help if it makes thing easier too. Thanks for the info, and i will take pictures.

Most of the work can be done yourself--the problem really begins when you install the new ones...you really need someone holding from the top and bottom at the same time to make sure the strut doesn't move and the spring stays seated correctly.

Alright, so i went to the shop this afternoon, and there wasnt going to be enough time for me to finish before they closed, so i am going to try again tomorrow. I was thinking about doing it outside of the shop so i wouldnt have their time constraints. I wouldnt have a spring compressor though, has anyone cut their springs? I dont like the idea...but if people have done it and it works...And jacking the car up one corner at a time would also take more time.

DON'T CUT YOUR SPRINGS.

You can borrow a spring compressor from Advance Auto for free, just pay deposit.
Or you can buy a new one for like, $30, that's what I did.
I also had to do one corner at a time, no lift for me...

wow, only 30 dollars...alright, i will look into buying one, thats way cheaper than the shop fee. And i didnt like the sound of cutting anyway. Thanks for the advice though, i will post pictures when its all done.

It's a piece of cake. You don't really need 2 people...it can be done on your own. If you have access to air tools, it will make life 10x's easier!!!
