found out my dealer is cool

I took my car up to the dealer yesterday.....after having my springs on for a week I had the alignment done. So many people have had a problem with their dealers and mods I didn't really know what to expect since I hadn't had my car back there since I bought it. when they had ask me why I was getting it aligned, as if it pulled or whatever, I told them I was only getting it aligned since I just put all new wheels/tires on it and it had been a year and a half since I got the car...it was preventitive maintenance....

well after the car was in the bay...I guess the assistant manager of service had gone out there and looked at it and I was standing outside near the front....he took the time to come by and tell me that he thought the set up I had on my car was sweet.....at that point I knew I wasn't going to have any problems. I was a little worried when I noticed what looked like one of their NOOBS doing the alignment....but then I recognized one of the senior techs there and he came over and told me that he would be second checking EVERYTHING....and taking the test drive to ensure it was 100%......after a while he came back and told me that the alignment came out "dead on" and he too compilmented me on the car and we BS'ed a little about two tricked out P5's that Mazda had in their shop about two weeks before.....all in all it was a good trip to the dealer...and on Friday the 13th too!!

I had a similar experience at my dealer (Marina Motors of Capitola).

After hearing all the horror stories, I wasn't too stoked to see all the techs crowding around my car. When the senior tech saw me and waved me over, I thought, "Here it comes."
"It's suprising that more people don't hook these cars up." was the only comment I got. That and a bunch of compliments.

Then they gave me a free chamois and sent me on my way!

I love my Mazda!

Hmmmmm Texas!

It must be a Texas thing. When i went home (Corpus Christi) a couple of months ago, i decided to go buy the dealership there. Man I was so suprised in how Tuner friendly they where. As a matter of fact, they had a whole section in the large garge just for Super tuning. Awsome!
I hate going to the local dealership in this podunk city, they are worthless!! They treat everyone like crap.

I wish my dealer was like some of those you guys are talking about, (Reliable Imports/Mazda) isn't worth a crap. The Mazda Advisor and Parts people have terrible Mazda knowledge, everytime I go in I have to wait to be waited on, wait for the work to be done, and wait again to pay the bill. The Service Techs are very nice though and appear to be very well trained and have great knowledge about what they are doing, they are definately the exception. Overall, the dealership sucks, but its the only Mazda dealer within 2hrs of my home. The same company that owns it also owns a local Chevy dealership and they suck too, I think its a management philosophy problem. When i bought my car, I seriously thought about making the 2hr drive to the next closest Mazda dealer, but figured whats the point since this one would have to do most of the work anyway. Oh well.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the Costco tire shop here in Charleston. I went in to get new tires, and he was quite helpful and sharp on the performance end of the tires. For the money we were willing to spend, I ended up with some nice Z rated Potenzas 205 instead of the stock 195. They also did a free tire mounting when I bent my front wheel on a ridge left in the road from resurfacing...

Helped out with our XTerra. Showed us how shaving down the plastic lip on the front wheel wells would allows to throw 31" all terrains on there without rubbing.

I'm not sure if all the Costcos send their guys to classes, but he has been to all kinds of schools.
