It's basically in all how you drive the car. Don't bag on it. Don't whip around corners. Also road conditions affect it too. Like constantly being on an uneven/bumpy surface.

dremadden, when you put your Tom Motorsport Coilovers on, did you use the rubber washers? They came in the plastic bag and there were a ton of them in there. They go around the strut and they fit a little snug inside the shaft of the coilover. If you put these on, I think the noise you were hearing will go away.

H&R's are way better.. my husband had them on his contour and LOVED them... Its not a harsh ride at all it just feels like a more controled, road hugging type feel. It wasnt much more stiff than stock, however you know its different. And it doesnt give you that hard bounce like most stiff springs. The roll was almost completely gone. You could hug a turn like no other!!

Also, the H&R's dont sag in the rear after settling like the Eibachs do.

depends on what YOU are looking for was far as spring rate and drop depth.

For what I was looking for I went with the eibachs. 145 shipped off of ebay and they give a 1.4" front and 1.2" rear (i believe) drop on the car and the spring rate is just agressive enough for what I want without sacrificing ride comfort.

As for the badging philosphy, eibach cause all I want is 1 small badge on the lwer trim area near the wheel well. As if this was a decision making factor in the first place

btw this was for my 03.5 p5

Would you(or anyone) give me your opinion on who makes the least aggressive springs? I'd like to stiffen things up a little bit, but not a lot, and I really like the drop that the H&Rs give the car(I think it's 1.3" all 'round). I rode in a couple of Proteges with JIC coilovers and I'd like to get as close to that ride as I can...without dropping two g's.

Thanks.
Nate
FYI...the JIC FLT-A2 coilover spring rates are 393 lbs/in front and 225 lbs/in rear. much, much stiffer than the stock P5 springs (don't know the rates, but the MSP springs are 145/118). so don't worry about the springs making the ride harsh...it's the dampers that play the major role in that. stiff springs w/ weak dampers will make the car bouncy.

How much does throwing H&Rs or Eibachs on do to adding 17" wheels? Enough clearance all around? I hear a lot of info for the later 3gens, wondering if any different for 99 ES...

Also, based on another thread I was reading, the front and rear sway bars need the adjustable links if you lower, correct?

You warranty on your struts/springs will be gone if they trace the problem (IF A PROBLEM OCCURS) to the lowering springs. For Example: Premature wear of the struts.

Anyways, you'll have to check w/ different dealers. 2 of the 3 dealers I have say what I said above. One of them won't even let me modify my car at all.

so basically from this disussion whatever kind of springs you get it will shorten the life of your struts right?
