Easy Q about P5 and Protege Lugz

Does the 2002 regular Protege with a 2.0L I-4 have the same lugnut pattern as the P5?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but TIA for anyone who replies with an answer.

Isn't the 5 lug pattern only on ES models though? But yeah if it's the 5 lug pattern it is, if you have 4 lugs, no

Ya, that's what I was thinking. Are the ES models the 2.0L, or does that refer to the trim line of the car?

I figure the lower power 1.6L has the four-lug wheels and the higher power 2.0L has the five lug, like the P5.

Is that right?

Depends what year...
99-00: DX & LX = 1.6L; ES=1.8L
01: DX & LX=1.6L; LX 2.0 & ES=2.0L
02+: All 2.0L

(Note: U.S. market only, Canadian models were still available after 2001 with the 1.6L; the username "Labrador Boy" suggests you are a Newfie. I don't entirely understand the 99-03 Canadian Protege lineup.)

Not quite. For all North American 99+ Proteges, rear drum brakes= 4-lug, rear disk brakes= 5-lug. Only the 01+ ES, P5, MP3 and MSP have rear disks and 5-lug hubs. However, I think that in Canada, the 01-02 ES had to have the "GT" package to get the rear disks. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Very informative post man, thanks.

The rear disks would be the thing to look out for then.

Yes, I am in Canada, but I'm no Newfie! I'm from Labrador, therefore I am a Labradorean
