Well, they are some pretty cheap coilovers

A great man once said "You get what you pay for". I think it was Ben Hur. No, I think David Hasselhoff.

Tom is to Toms what Rockwood is to Rockford-Fosgate.

If you buy, say, Eibach springs for your Protege, you know that they(Eibach) spent plenty of money on R & D, racing, etc. Eibach springs are specifically tuned for our car. Those Tom springs use the same super-stiff spring-rate for any car. Cheap, generic springs.

Question

So how much did they run you? And what was wrong with the performance of the product?

so did you install them? or do they suck because you don't like the color they painted the springs?

well first the shocks boot did not fit back, the ones in the back will have a constant clonking soud to them, it have holders that do not go all the way down so you can't adjust to front to match the back,

I saw them on EBay for like $160 bucks (shipped). It looks like a Ground Control rip off. So they probably just copied the Ground Control Spring rates- which I believe are pretty stiff if you don't select a custom rate. The clunking in the back sounds typical of any of the coilovers- even the Tiens have had issues with that. I think there is a gasket fix you can do.

But, I guess if you are unhappy, then rage on!!

You know you can buy those springs in any weight you want, now that you have the coilover perches. The springs (eibach brand) can be purchased seperately for about $50 a piece. Just order them by Diameter, Length, and weight.
