Cause: Struts or Low Pro Tires
Lately im getting a lot more Road Feel Than before. I have the Racing Beat Springs on the Stock Struts since October. Also i have had 205/40 16 Kumho 711's for 3 months. Im feeling every little bump & dip in the Road and even running over the reflectors on the road it just hits hard. Im thinking it has more to do with the 40 series tires than the Stocks Struts wearing. Let me know what all of ya think... -John-
There's a good chance that it's the tires, but I would swap the struts anyways. IMHO the stock struts are too soft to adequately control aftermarket springs, worn out or not.
I would recommend a set of OEM MP3 struts. Now that Mazda is selling them as an accessory kit, they are quite cheap- only $405 a set with the Team Support discount.

I've been thinking about chaning out the Struts i was looking to wait till the Stock ones just wear out but i should have went with 205/50's but they gave me a good deal on the 40's so i just went with that. It's just when im driving it feels like something is not right so it bugs me I may just replace my Tires again. I was using the Stock Dunlops on my aftermarket Rims but they were actually warped so anytime i hit above 65 the vibration was annoying and giving my arms a workout holding the steering wheel. Oh i have a P5 forgot to mention that.
check your tire pressure. It's hot, so I found myself having 40 psi in stock tires. In colder months it used to be 36 psi. I lowered pressure and it smoothed ride out to satisfactory level.
Worn struts will not make ride harsh, they will make it bounsy and will "skip" on the bumps while turning. I have 20000km on RB springs and struts are doing very good.
I used to have struts which were so worn out I could effortlessly compress them with my hand. After replacing them with blue Tokico ride quality didn't change, but car became flawless in bumpy turns.

Aight i'll try lowering my Tire Pressure I have had it around 38 Psi I try lowering it to 35 and see how it feels. But if its still the same I'll most likely go buy some new tires this time 205/50's I've been checking prices on the internet I like the Dunlop Sp Sport FM901's as far as price wise haven't heard much about them though.
205/50R16 tires have a larger diameter than the stock 195/50R16 tires, which will make your car accelerate slower and will make your speedo read slightly low. It will improve your ride quality and gas mileage, tho
The correct "Plus Zero" size for a P5 is a 205/45R16.

Finally had my struts looked at today in the shop. My Racing Beat Springs have blown my Front Struts the Rear are ok though. It's been about a year to date since i had the Springs installed. They are definitely stiff that the push down test while the car is parked doesn't show it. I was going to do replacement OE Struts but they said it would just happen again so my boy Jeff found one of his dealers who found me KYB Struts (I'm thinking they have to be the Mazdaspeed ones) I should have them installed next week for a total of $530.00 There go my plans on changing cars at the end of the year unless i sell it on my own.
