what's "euro-spec"? are they more stiff or something?

yes, more stiff....kimosabi

although not sure if its both, dampening AND rebound that are stiffer, but atleast one of them...

Don't forget the MazdaSpeed adjustables. They aren't cheap, at around $684 from Mazda Motorsports, but they work very well.
