Question Bump Stops, do I need them?

I recently installed some Eibach springs on my P5 and the tech who installed them didn't install the factory bump stops. I read in the FAQ that it recommends getting the MP3/MSP bump stops. Is it neccessary to get these or will I be fine without them? On another site, I read that you only need bump stops if you lower you car more than 1.5". Is there any truth to this?

Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I haven't had bumpstops since I bought my car (put coilovers on and slammed it) and I have a Spool 2" drop and still good. I had cut my factory ones down so short, they were no good anyway.

Thanks for the replys...I think I'll just leave it as is (without the bumps stops) until it's time to replace the shocks. Plus, the roads here aren't really that bad so bottoming out is less of an issue.
