Okay, maybe I'm dumb (at least when it comes to this) but I can't figure out how to put a picture in with the post. So I uploaded them to my garage. If you click on the tab at the top of the page and go to mgs_freak, I've got a before and after pic in there.

just click the reply button, type in your message. scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the manage attachments button (picture 1) a screen should pop up (picture 2). give you a hint, i only use JPG images because they upload way faster than BMP or anything

where's the rest of your intake?? how much did you pay for that one? I just paid $48 for a true CAI and it replaced everything from the TB to the filter. Yours just replaces the pipe up to the MAF.

I paid $60 for the piping, filter, and other hardware.

It came with two pipes to replace everything from the throttle body to the air box. I decided not to go that way because the filter ends up right in the path of the radiator fan. All that HOT air going into the engine would just bog it down. So I used one piece of the piping, moved the coolant resevoir and now my filter is sucking cool air from the gaping hole in the wheel well.

I got the Injen intake. At the time of purchase, That particular Ebay CAI didn't exist yet. Otherwise, I would have gotten the bootleg.

Well what you need to do now is make you a box to seal off the air filter from the rest of the engine, buy the Cork sport (I would make one myself)air ram that goes under the car and another pipe to make it a true ram air! Its not hard at all, and if I hadn't all ready spent my money on the CAI I would have been doing this myself. I still might, all I need to do is cut it down a bit!

I had that same idea, I was just trying to figure out how to do it. I didn't know that someone had already produced parts for it. I'm definately gonna look into that.

I got an AEM short ram air for my 03 es. Retail is 225 dollars, I paid 130 including the shipping. Just search around. I got detailed instructions, a warranty, legal documents for the dealer if my warranty is denied and I can always call AEM if theres a problem. works fantastic. screw those no name pieces of crap intakes man. I can't stand people who use cheap **** and say they care about their car. Those intakes are very general and made from inferior materials. they will conduct massive heat. Live and learn.

MASSIVE heat?? I just can't buy that. How will it conduct any more heat than any other metal in the engine compartment? I havent heard of anyone getting branded by the heat of their intake while working on their car.

"Every (AEM) intake is coated with a high-gloss, heat-reducing Zirconia based powder coating.
This special blend of powder coatinghelps reduce heat penetration, which in turn reduces the temperature of the inlet air charge." -AEM

Iceman intakes use a plastic blend which serves the same purpose.

When you fools piece together different tubes making your own "custom" (ha-ha!) intakes, you are creating air turbulence. Those e-bay knock offs do not test performance of the air flow. I know my intake was designed SPECIFICALLY for my application, and the piping is tuned in length, witdh, as well as location for optimal performance. Airgoes in turbulent and is directed in a smooth, consistent manner.

As far as you not hering of ANYONE GETTING BRANDED BY A HOTINTAKE WHILE WORKING ON THEIR CAR.....

1. MAYBE YOU DON'T ASSOCIATE WITH ANYONE WHO WORKS ON THEIR OWN CAR, LIKE YOURSELF. EXCEPT WHEN YOU POP THE HOOD TO THINK YOUR ENGINE IS ANY MORE SPECTACULAR THAT ANY OTHER PROTEGE ENGINE.

2. GO KISS YOURINTAKE AFTER TAKING A DRIVE, YOU'LL SEAR YOUR *** KISSING LIPS RIGHT OFF.

3. YOU ARE PROBABLY A DUMB LITTLE KID WHO PROBABLY INTENDED TO PURCHASE A CIVIC BUT AT THE LAST MINUTE GOT A PROTEGE.
