That was fast reparing the car, even though most was body work

Hey, the airbags do suck. When I got hit by the drunk driver in my SVT Focus I had it was horrible. Everything I had worked for.. which was a lot.. was gone.. not only that.. I wanted my seats and everything before they totalled it but the gas and white powder and crap was all over them! I hate the airbags but I must say the side airbags did save my life... But it sucks the Accent did that! Did it do a lot of damage to her?

yeah, it was pretty fast. a good week faster than they had estimated.

the Accent wasn't damaged much at all, just scratches and maybe one fairly deep gouge in the bumper cover. that's just how cars are built, to deflect force (thus sustaining minimal damage) when hit from the rear and to absorb force (ie crumple like a beer can) from front impact (thus keeping the occupants' bodies from absorbing that force). Yesterday I got the subpoena for witness for the chick's traffic violation, I'm sure it's going to be loads of fun

Sorry to hear abotu your accident, our Pro was in an accidnet in June and is still in the body shop. We're having TONS of extra body work done though all at the girls cost so it's ok, it will all be worth it when it comes out of the shop. I wasn't surprised when I read about the airbag not deploying. I have heard that there have been many problems with the airbags not deploying in the Proteges. I know a girl who just totalled her Pro by rear ending a guy at about 50 mph and her air bag didn't deploy either. You're actually lucky it didn't deploy from the sounds of it since you weren't hurt. They can be very dangerous and do more damage then help in some cases.
