Once again...what he said.

...why bother with even thinking about a swap? A 2003 Mazda Protege 2.0L has a lot of potential, and there are more parts out there for it right now than there are for the 2.3L. Retrofitting a 2.3L into a Protege (and getting the mounting and electrical right) could end up costing more than a set of cams, a turbo kit, a decent exhaust system, etc etc etc...

If money is no object (as people who want to swap often claim on this forum), then you could have one killer, all-motor 2.0L Protege that will eat most 2.3L Mazda3's for breakfast.

i should say rather

did the location of the mounts change on the 2.0L engine to fit in it's new home
what do u mean by that? are u asking if the mounts are different between the 2.0 and 2.3 on the mazda3 chassis, or are u suggesting that hte protege chassis is reused or something and just changed around...im confused

I was actually responding to the ******* smilie that was directed toward me. That post was a little vague, so I deleted it. Sorry 'bout that.

Also, Thurman's question was about fitting a Mazda3 engine into a 2000 Protege. Two completely different cars.

seriously guys, there's no need for any sarcasm or harsh tones. It's just a noob question answered about 6 times over.

Let's play nicely and not act like other forums.
