Unhappy Wheel Vibration

Hi Everybody
After picking up my P5 last week, I just put on some snows, they are 15" steel wheels with Pirelli Wintersport tires 195/55/15. The car feels like it's wobbling at low speed, like one of the wheels were smaller. I am not sure what's causing it, and the car vibrates alot at around 130km/h. The tires/wheels were balanced, and I checked the tire pressure. What else could be causing the problem?

Please help.

Ben

AGAIN BALANCING

AGAIN BALANCING

Did you have them spun balanced or just balanced.

Or even worse one or the rims is bent or not straight.

Where did you get the steel wheels from and what kind are they? Are you sure they fit properly? I'm wondering because I don't think mine do.

I have universal steel wheels on mine (looks like the wheel they have on a CRV spare tire I saw).

The place where I got it from, they bore out the centre. But I don't think they did it the right size. I think they made it too big. I haven't noticed wobbling on mine though.

The place I bought the steel wheels from claim that the wheels are generic wheels, made for many other cars with the same bolt pattern. The middle hole is bigger than the center hub of my car. I do not notice any wobbles when i spin the wheels when the car is jacked up. After rebalancing them last week at the place I got them, I still have vibrations after 130km/h. I do not know why, it feels like the tires are not balanced, but they have assured me they are and they even took the car out to test drive after the balancing. I did notice a differnece at 120km/h. But at 130, the vibrations start again.

Bingo 8-) You need wheels with the *exact* same center hole size. For some strange reason, many Mazdas *really* don't like wheels with larger center holes. They will vibrate no matter what you do.

Try getting some OEM wheels from an older (89-99) Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon or Plymouth Laser. They have wheels with the exact same center hole size and almost the same offset as the P5.
