When you and I meet up for coffee, how's about a little cruise out that way? I'd be interested to see how the Injen stacks up to the Monsterflow...
Could be an idea.

I have to agree with that... Going fast in a small car is one of the best adrenaline rushes there is... I'll be damned if I'll jump off a bridge with a piece of elastic around my waste to get that kind of high lol
The fastest I've been in a car is also 145 mph in my hubby's VW Gti vr6... I love that little car!

Actually Andrew, on the FS-DE it's limited at 7050 RPM, but you're right, there's not speed governor. When I hit 203 KPH in 5th gear, I was only at about 6200 RPM, so she still had a ways to go yet. Next time we'll see if I can go a little faster.

Actually Nick, two cars screaming down a farm road @ 120 doesn't seem to be the most sane idea... maybe just a nice little 1/4 mile drag??

Don,

Yeah, that's what I meant. Just a little cruise out there... It's a nice road to drive on regardless. I'd go for a quick little 1/4 mile with you though anyday!

Is your schedule still busy? I'm off on spring break here pretty soon (Thursday) so I'll be free all day for the next two weeks.

nonono,,, I am not implying that anyone is stupid ,, I just don't want to see any of you guys get hurt .. I know speed is like nicoteen(sp) you get a taste of those high speeds, the blood starts flowing , you start breathing funny and you heart starts pounding faster and faster , and you start to see time go by quicker and quicker ,.. all this starts after 100mph , lol ... I do not imply that anyone is dum , I just stress for you guys to be carefull while hitting these speeds , cause you have to remeber it is hard as hell - to - impossible to correct a mistake at 120 mph ...

Not bad indeed! Any idea what road I was on? I just followed Beddington trail until just past Township Road 252 (there's a little grey school house / community hall on the corner,) and then I just went flat out. Great road. Flat, smooth, no cops, no traffic. I admit, 200 KPH is fast, but I wasn't being stupid like Bruce hinted at.

Bruce, if that's not what you were getting at, many apologies! It really was safe. That's the road my Dad and I go to to run his Vette up to speed. I think we hit 280 KPH in his, with the top down... Not sure if he could have gone faster, but at that speed, who cares? JESUS that was fast!

Rented Miata

Hello All

Last summer a budy and i went to Alberta and we rented a Miata im not sure of the year but it was a convertable, manual awesome car, and best of all rented

125 with a little left to the floor boards... longggggggggg straight prairie road daylight and we werent at that speed for long but.... man now i know where the person who thought of Zoom Zoom Zoom got the idea from.

Dont know if the P5 will see that speed but itys nice everyonce in a while i ussualy am going that fast but there is always a sharp turn at the end on the straight so i have to slow.... a little

Hey Bruce... no worries. I appreciate your concern. You are right about things happening quick at speed. My last two cars were quite abit faster than my P5 ('86 Shelby Charger Turbo & "88 Mustang GT Convertable, both highly modified) Spun my Shelby on Crowchild Tr. here during a race about 10 years back @ around 125mph. (estimated) Got cut off. Spun nice and flat untill the final spin when we piroetted(sp) on the front pass. side tire. Groved the rim ACROSS the bead! My friends whom I was racing said I was on only that tire though the last 360. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Dont EVER want to do that again! So now I try to be logical where I speed.

Pro 5's are seriously limited by drag on the top endtaken mine up to around 115 and that was crawling along for about 3 miles after hitting 110 a lower stance and a redesigned rear spoiler might help some.

Bruce,

No harm done! Like I said before, it was very safe. (At least considering the speed. ) There was NO traffic, and there were two people looking out for animals, pedestrians, everything that might be a hazard, so like I said before, it's not like I was rushing down a crowded freeway at rush hour. A deserted country road in the middle of nowhere.

Don,

I got your email, and man, that looks like one sweet-*** machine!

wondering if you got it. So I'm allowed to drive it, but working on borrowing it for a weekend. If it happens we'll go for a spin. If I remember it should be close to 350-400hp.

Works getting a bit more calm, I'll try to work out a coffee time.

top speed

Hey last night im was bored so i deciced to take my P5 for a rip and test her top speed limit. Before i post this number i need all to know that my car has an FS-ZE conversion with 11.9.1 compression and E6K programmable computer that has not yet been properly tuned and a **** load of other mods. Fifth gear -6800 rpm -137 mph - by the way my fuel cutoff is set at 7200 rpm with the new ecu, I still had 400 rpm left before i let off. I started to run out of room because of the cars ahead and didnt want to blow by anyone doing this speed. I believe i could of hit 140 but not enough room better safe than sorry. I think LINUXNINJA had his FS-ZE MP3 up around 130 plus. I know you all think im an idiot for speeding like that but i couldnt help myself i was watching some super touring races and caught the speed fever. I,m just glad the man didnt catch me or i'de be in the county rite now with big bubba. this is no bullshit i'll do it again when i get a digi cam to prove it eace: BOOSTEDMP5

Sounds cool man. As long as you were being safe. Good thing you backed off is right! What if one of them wanted to pass the guy in front, without checking the mirror, and WHAM! The closure speed is 70MPH, and your car is gone. Sad to think about, but I see that it did cross your mind which is a good thing.
