I am told my Protege ES is a refresh for 2002. I believe it means they made little changes to it from what it was in the beginning of the year. I could be wrong though. Would not be the first time

if you did a search, you would find a bevy of information covering this...but I believe it's only for protege/p5 models..

All 2002.5 Proteges were effected. They have side turn signals, tweeters in the sail panel, deeper cup holders. The ES also includes redesigned rims and the autosport opition.

I wonder why they changed the wheels? I'm not sure which ones I like better.

The reason I went with a ES was that I'm not that fond of the P5 front end. I like the look of the sedan fog lights better. Just my humble opinion.
