Yeah a cold air intake makes a bit of noise doesn't it?

yeah the sound of my turbo slowly spooling down after the car shuts off just doesn't compare to that cool sucking sound the car makes after you shut it off with a cold air intake naturally aspirated. I miss that sound (again)

My intake only sounds good when I turn off the car. I don't really hear it while driving like many people report, but it's alright. And I also would rather hear a turbo spooling down than an intake (which hopefully will happen by next spring).

I just washed the car well I finished about 40 minutes ago, but then I walked to starbucks

I think I'm gonna pull into the garage, finish vacuuming the interior, and maybe do some polishing and waxing.

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked about finally getting one. Funny, just when I think I am done with the Protege, I get something else...I guess I really do have a sickness! It's going to be really bad once I get my RX-7 resto going.

I can't say as I have heard turbo spool-down when I shut off the Speed6, but I LOVE how it sounds through the CAI when I am getting on it (my gf accused me of wanting to drive home from dinner with the windows down tonight just so I could hear the whoosh-psssh of the turbo/BOV).

Back on the subject of Proteges, I also love how the CAI on the Pro sounds when getting on it.

^^ the joys of waxing a yellow car. I had to deal with it when I detailed my friend's yellow 04 tiburon.. bugs love makin love on a yellow car.

You can't ever tell color temperature of HIDs from a single picture.. you'd need the camera set in full manual mode (or at least manual white balance) and take pics of the different colors.

From that pic.. they could definitely be 6000k. I dunno if I have any pics of mine online, I'll go check (I have 6000k)

here's all I've found so far:

you must drive with the windows up a lot if you can't hear it... there's a TON of noise from the intake side of the engine. Very sexy noises. Valves fluttering around, going from half throttle to full throttle coming out of a corner generally makes a nice 'suck' sound from the pressure changes in the intake, etc etc

mmmmm I just got back, now I want to go drive again lol

Tell me about it.. I just put the car into the garage 10 minutes ago and now I wanna go for a drive. ..but if I go now I'll just get covered with bugs and have to wash it again tomorrow before I wax :P

maybe I'll just rev it in the garage lol

you know if you stopped washing your car for 10 minutes you'd actually get to drive the damn thing....

It's a damn car. Go drive. A little dirt won't hurt it, I promise....

I absolutely love how my car sounds (I'm convinced it's one of the best sounding N/A proteges I've ever heard... and yes, I'm tooting my own horn). That combined with a balanced 'street' suspension makes it hard to go easy on it. I beat up on a crotch rocket on some twisties this evening. We weren't really racing or anything, but I figured on a bike he'd be able to keep up... dude was riding that thing like a grandma lol

That mazdaspeed rear sway (combined with mazdaspeed springs and illuminas that have been on since the middle of last year) seriously transformed the car. It's SERIOUSLY neutral, with a little understeer if you over cook it, and with just enough rotation with a tap on the brakes / throttle lift when you need it. It'll definitely carve some corners. Granted, it's no maita, but that's a whole different beast of a suspension
