Not sure about that. All I know is, this car has the best throttle response I have ever seen on a street car.
Just to correct myself, it is a single 48mm WEBER downdraft.

Anyway, Andrew, those rims look pretty nice. If they came in a brighter finish I'd consider them myself. However, I heard some complaints that their finish is the best quality, so maybe inspect them well before you commit to the set.

naa, the finish doesn't really worry me. Nothing a re-spray can't fix. For $200, that's less than the cost of 2 wheels, and let's not even start w/ shipping.

fair enough, but I'm @ work right now, so I don't really have time to be a crazy post machine :-/

Well found out last night after picking my daughter up from the dance studio that my PS light is now out!!! I just freakin' replaced the DS last Tuesday!!!

So that is now two sets of silverstars in a year and a half. Now I am contemplating the Osram silverstars ($38 shipped off of ebay) or the Osram Night Breakers (new product that is $60 shipped from powerbulbs). Also thinking of HID's but with the holidays around the corner....

Initially I was thinking 6k but 5k (Thanks Rob) may work better for me. I do a lot of night (early morning) driving.

**Please note, this was posted on another forum but original post has been modified so as not to attract the cheddar police**

And on a side note, how are you feeling Chris?

Definitely 5k

I still feel shitty. I've been taking 800mg of ibuprofen (4 pills) every 4-6 hours and the pain is still worse than it was yesterday when I was taking nothing. It took 3 hours to drive the 70 miles (less than I thought) to my car.

The car will be repaired (it still could be a write-off, they need to extract the hatch door to examine the extent of the damage in there) at the shop it is at right now. When I was there today it seemed like a really great shop, and really friendly. It isn't the preffered shop of my insurance company, but the shop they prefer is some big chain shop that I've heard bad things about. I have a good feeling about this one (mainly because it isn't in Rochester ha).

^^ shows the LED lights I got a couple weeks back. I removed the brake light LEDs because of how little change there was between the non-brake and brake state. definitely um.. a safety risk, one might say it could increase the risk of being rear-ended (if someone were to ignore the bright as hell upper brake light). but yeah I had taken them out like a week before the rear ending lol

oh and the license plate lights AREN'T blue, white balance is way off in that vid.

Sorry to hear about the pain, I do hope you feel better and SOON!!

As for the pics....Wow!!! Looking at the bright side...if they don't total it....JDM tails?

And I have decided to forego HID's....for now. Ordered some Osram Silverstars off of ebay. Now let's see how long these will last....

I've been posting most of the updates on the status of the car on the thread with a red link in my signature. Check the third page I outlined the modifications I'm considering, but of course I'm open for input on all of them.

lol....I just saw the thread and posted there! I would def. say go for the JDM tails for the same cost as OEM...no brainer.

It's basically the same cost.. as far as my insurance company is concerned right now I only need one taillight. They got a price of $108 for an aftermarket replica of the OEM.. but I refuse to use non-OEM headlights or taillights since it could be a safety issue (I don't know about the optics quality and stuff). I might get the JDM lights just for the added safety.. they have a light on at the top and bottom, and the top one gets brighter when you brake. I could wire it such that just the bottom lit up normally, and the top then only when braking for added contrast --don't want to get rear-ended again not that it would have helped in this situation. I like the idea of having a totally separate light for braking. I don't especially like the styling of the JDM taillights.. there's a reason they changed them on the newer JDM cars to the same style we got stock.. the older JDM ones just look older.. no modern car sold today has lights that look like that. Everyone is using circles for stuff now

sounds like a plan on the lights - FYI: i re-rigged mine to do just that, since the sedan lights have the two areas for running lights. only the bottom part now is for the running lights, and the top part lights nice and bright for the brakes.

from the condition of the car, i would imaging they would total it, especially since the rear doors are misaligned. if they fix it, they'll probably always leak from there on out.

if they do total it, you gonna buy-back and part-out?

no. I won't have time to. Classes start monday and it's my only means of getting to campus when I need to.

Just so you know, PlasmaGlow's bulbs have the same look as silverstars, but have a 10 year burn out warranty.

I've had mine for about 2 years, no problems, and they look just as nice and bright as Silverstars.
