umm 93 + 2 = 95, no wonder my tranny broke! Im missing 5% of my car! duh!

I use to write for an online mag also.

Conveniences: Sparse
WTF? Let's see: Power windows, power locks, power mirrors. Tilt steering wheel (okay, a fairly useless amount of tilt, but still there), speed sensitive steering, an ingenious (even if it is cheap) driver's side seat adjustment (the **** things - interesting mechanism, IMO), decent amount of storage pockets for a small car, HATCHBACK, cruise controls on steering wheel........etc, etc.

How many "conveniences" does this guy want? What is missing!?!?!?!?

What a dumbass......

Why so hostile? Kick back and take things into perspective. Keep in mind, not everyone has the same taste in cars. I don't think many of us were his target audience. We're already enlightened enough to know how great the car is. These articles are targetted for people that buy cars used to go from point a to point b. You know. . . the Taurus, Accord, and Camry drivers.

Oddly enough, after looking through a few of his other "reviews", none of the others I looked at included as much of his political/solical rants. I found the article rather entertaining. Isn't that the point? This Protege5 sparked a wave of emotion for him, so he spouted it out. Why not? It's his website after all. I didn't read his article to sway my opinion on the vehicle. I already own one, I'm not going trade it in because read an article with less than raving reviews.

Who wants a raving article anyways? Like I said before, we already know the car is great. If it had glowing reviews, more people would buy them, demand goes up. . . so price goes up until supply can meet demand. So many Protege5's on the road that people wouldn't notice the car. . . it'd be "another Protege5". Honestly now, do you want that?

Conviences - sparce. If you jump from one car to another regardless of price, you'd notice a number of amenities that the Protege5 is lacking. It's expected for a car of this price range. But take price out of the equation and you get a new perspective. After all, he just jumps in a car, takes a short test drive and writes a little article. He doesn't make monthly payments on all of them, so price is still an issue but its less of a concern.

Back to the Xtreme. . . relative to most other trucks, the Xteme is low. Correct? Relative to more sport compacts, the Protege is low. See the correlation? Okay maybe I'm reaching, but that's how I read it.

Looking at what I've just written, I'm starting to sound a lot like him. Maybe that's why I'm coming to his defense.

The Protege5 is not low by any standards, its even taller than the ES sedan which is not considered a low rider. It's the "body kit" that makes people think that.
