I have to add a message here to get this to the top of the list...really want to install this CAI today, so I need some answers from those who bought the eBay one. As explained in the post above, I don't know what the round rubber wheel like devise with screw threads on each side is for...where it goes. Also, to Roddimus or others who know this intake, there is a rubber 90degree elbow and one other rubber coupler. I know where the elbow goes, but one rubber coupler attaching to the MAF is fine.....but shouldn't there be another rubber coupler attaching to the other side of the MAF to the rest of the piping? If so, then there is one rubber coupler missing. Anyone else come across this? What's the solution here? ROddimus.....help!

Just IMed with Roddimus Prime....

If anyone is wanting the eBay CAI, avoid the one with the grey couplers...buy the one with the blue ones....the kit with the grey ones is incomplete....only comes with one coupler and is 2 metal bands short too...just emailed the seller...we'll see what he is able to do for me.

Thanks Roddimus...I'm thinking of it (going down this weekend)...still waiting for a reply from the seller...also found a place locally that sells the coupler...but they want like $12 per one....might go check out what else they have anyway.

My Protege Sucks......"don't Go For Cheap...you'll Be Sorry A Heap"

So, long story short....got the CAI installed....took me hours...the coupler that came with the kit didn't fit...had to heat it and stretch the hell out of it...the metal bands were too small...had to break it loose from the metal "wrap-around" for it to work...went and bought a RED coupler (that's all they had) for $8.00 and 2 more bands for $2.00 each....anyway, it's all installed now. Used a copper door-jamp, bent at a 90degree angle to anchor the connector that was wedged into the original intake rubber piece...had to move the coolant tank...no big deal....Now it sounds nice....finally drove it and it's NICE!!! BTW, I have some pieces left over...don't know what the HELL they're for....

So...here's the moral of the story...."DON'T GO FOR CHEAP....YOU'LL BE SORRY A HEAP"

When you get a chance to buy a CAI on eBay that has a grey coupler in the picture and shipping is cheaper by a couple of bucks....PASS ON IT...AND BUY the one with BLUE COUPLERS....EVEN if SHIPPING is MORE...it's well worth it and the BEST BUY when you consider all factors!

I'll try to upload some pictures for you tonight....

The filter in front of the wheel well is really nice....My wife says that my Protege SUCKS now....IT REALLY DOES.....SUCKS AIR, that is!

RODDIMUS....decided "NO GO," on my trip to B-HAM this weekend...that's one reason I went ahead and got the CAI done....My wife reminded me along with "Your PROTEGE SUCKS, " that it's our anniversary this weekend....LOL

Another note....even though the guy who sold me my CAI off of eBay says that his "E-MAIL WILL BE ANSWERED BY OUR STAFF MONDAY-FRIDAY 10:00AM - 6:00PM EST." there was no answer all day, and I emailed him early....Thus, NEGATIVE RATING for "REVZO." That's, revzoracing@yahoo.com Whatever you do, DON'T BUY from THIS GUY.

that thing looks IDENTICAL to the Injen intake!! hahaaha, how much did it cost you in total?? I bet less than half what an injen costs.

Hit up FC3Sboy for one of those monsterflow filters. i'm loving mine so far!

Thanks, Roddimus....$65 after shipping and then $12 worth of other parts I had to buy locally. I'll drive with my current filter for a few days and then I plan to get the monsterflow...so, how is that filter different in your opinion? Did it increase your HP or just the sound is better?
