Lightbulb What Cold-Air Intake do you have???

I see many different Cold–Air intakes on the market and I would like your input on what choice you made and why you chose it?

i have seen the injen and it is a quality unit, HP racing has a new kit out as well but i have'nt got to test it yet. stay away from the e-bay ones as they use the cheapest filter they can find and i wuld'nt trust my motor to a $5.00 filter- chris @ spd

I'm confused about the Injen intake! Where does the filter go and how do you change it. Is it easy to install for an average guy?

I have and personally love my Ebay SRI. The filter thats one it is the exact same as any other paper filter on any other non-oiled intake.

$38shipped for an intake can't be beat. Sure it's not name brand but I'm only interested in stuff that works. I doubt very seriously there is any noticeable difference between any style intake. I bet on a dyno it's even less of a difference.

I bought the AEM SRI for my 2003 P5 two months ago and am loving it. It was very easy to install. The instructions are simple to follow and all you really need are socket wrenches and screwdrivers. I never thought I could do it myself but this club helps their people out a lot. I've even installed my msp exhaust with eaze.

I'll get razzed for this, but I have heard and seen comments about the AEM Short Ram having troubles in bumper-to-bumper traffic on a hot summer day. I've also heard that while the Injen does draw in cooler air, that same air is not much (or any?) cooler by the time it gets to the TB. Both seem possible. For what it's worth, I found a used Injen on eBay for $130.00. And you can get to the filter through the fender liner, a pain, but not near as bad as removing the front bumper cover like they say in the instructions.

i got mine off from ebay. here is the link. he was pretty good as to lower the price to save me brokerage fees. (i am canadian).

there is a choice between mt or at.

regards to hot weather driving. It actually does effect it a little bit. not as much kick but if it's bumper to bumper, you're not really going anywhere. Will this ruin the engine?

I am not a fan of the AEM CAI. I had one and while it did it's job it didn't do very well due to the positioning of the filter element. It needs to be off to the side not in front of that fan behind the radiator....it just makes no sense to mount it there. I think AEM got lazy.

The Ebay CAI is only like $54 shipped and should give you something to keep in mind if you want performance on a budget.

how do you like it Karen? My Ebay SRI works great...looks ok and was less than $40shipped. I couldn't be happier with my investment.
