Hello guys,
The turbo manifold was custom made. Its a casted tubular design. I must admit that my good friend did most of the manifold work.
The oil lines are installed and I got the engine managment put in, I fired her up but did not go over 2psi though, light on the accelerator. I am taking it to my tuner so he can work his magic.
I will run 8psi, I dont want to break rods, I am very paranoid!
As for the turbo its a 16g and it will flow! If its good enough for upgrades on 2.o liter dsm's its good enough for our wimpy f-series motors.
The bandaid as some have reffered to it is exhaust wrap and is very effective on turbo cars. Trust me I know! If things do catch on fire well, I will have to fabricate a heat shield but I dont think its necessary.
I plan on selling a start up kit that will include a tubular manifold, garrett balistic turbo and stainless steel oil feed and return lines with earls connectors. I can also provide intercoolers. So if anyone is interested you can email me privatly @ boostmx5@aol.com.
I can get a manifold fabricated as of know in about 2 weeks.

So that is a casted manifold???? sure looks like a tubular to me.....no casted manifold I know of has welds like that...lol actually no casted manifold I know of has really any welds at all......

I'd like to start by saying sweet...nice to see some turbo kits coming to the light from both spoolin and chdesign! Keep up the good work guys!
In reference to the stock pistons cracking!...this is not a good sign. Would this only happen at +10psi? Curious if it would only be on cars with "Personal Atmosphere"<--(turbos/supers).
As far as the temps with the turbo/manifold I don't think there should be too much of a problem especially seeing as the turbo is behind the rad and cooling fans(nice thing about transverse engined cars!) The only thing I would worry about would be the stock plastic that surrounds the fans. You might have to go with front mounted fans as an alternative. I could be totally wrong as I'm using a pic for informations!

Hei guys do you think the turbo will work if i put them on 2001 protege's 1.6 engine... ( that 1.6L just damn too slow ), how many Psi should I go? bigger Intercoller probably..... like most supra use?
