Tokico Illuminas coming this summer

I was at the LA Auto Show yesterday, adn at the Tokico Booth, they had a modded P5. Looking under the fenders, I noticed that the struts were the adjustable Illuminas. When I asked the Tokico Rep, he said that those were their prototype units, and that the Illuminas would be available this summer.

Just thought you might like the info.

WOO HOO! Yeah, I like this info 8-)

This means I can get adjustables without paying major $$$ for shocks with no warranty whatsoever

BTW would they say anything about price? Illuminas for most other apps are usually >$140 each.

Well, the Miata crowd went through Tokico Illuminas...now we're on to the KYB AGX. The Tokicos are about 50% more expensive as compared to the KYBs. The Illuminas are 5-way adjustable, the AGXs are 8-way. The Illuminas adjust at the top (going to be really hard under the rear deck of the sedan), whereas the AGXs adjust on the shock (reach behind the wheel).
<snip>

Yeah, but the AGX's are basically similar to the old GAB 8-way shocks. GAB's acquired a bad reputation for jammed adjuster wheels b/c they're located behind the tires where they get clogged with mud and road salt. This would usually happen well after the shocks' worthless 90-day warranty ran out Illuminas have a reputation for leaking on Miatas, but this hasn't been as much of a problem on many other vehicles. I had some on my old 91 CRX Si for 30k+ miles and had absolutely no problems with them.

Access to the top-mounted adjusters on Illuminas could be a pain if you're picky about cutting parts of your car. However, if you're not picky, this problem is easily solved with a pair of strategically located holes drilled in the rear package shelf

I had tokikos(non adj blue) on Escort GT , they were OK,car held line in the bumpy corner really well(as opposed to stock struts on PR5 which "skip")
But I am getting somewhat confused about Mazdaspeed struts-are they made by Tokico or KYB? Seems that different years have different manufacturer

it clearly says Tokico, but why I have subconsious feeling about KYB?Should I do less coke?

The front shocks for a G3 are made by KYB; the rears are made by Tokico.
