thinkin about buying a MSP turbo

has anyone checked into getting the stock turbo from an MSP put into an ES or P5, and if so what would need to be done. thinkin about doing this because i talked to a dealer and they said it wouldnt void your warranty because its a mazda product...any input would be good on this

It's a dinky T-25 turbo...Are you only talking about the turbo? B/c you would still need the exhaust mani & downpipe...

Yes...it would void the warranty!

Yes it will void your warranty, and you would need the turbo, manifold, piping IC and all assorted lines fittings and gaskets. If a dealer were to sell this it would be cheaper to go with an aftermarket turbo as they tend to produce considerably more power

i was told by a mazdaspeed certified dealership that if it was ordered by them and installed by them - including all parts, not just turbo that it would still be under warranty because it is something that is on another mazda car therefore mazda will warranty their parts
i was wondering if anyone out there had all of the parts installed and had a list of what was needed and how much it totalled up to

I heard that rumor about 8 months ago about certain Mazdaspeed dealers setting up speed shops where you could go and buy from them, installed by them and warrentied by them. This included everything but the turbo. But I never followed up on any of this. I went to one dealer a little later and he looked at me like I was an idiot. So I dont know. But it is questionable that you heard the same thing.

you guys are all full of it!!!! the mazdaspeed protege turbo parts are not available to the publc...they are only offering parts to replace broken parts on an existing Mazdaspeed Protege...and mazda must have the original piece off the Mazdaspeed first before providing the new part....you are better off going with an aftermarket turbo like the BEGI kit,HIBOOST, or Wagner Motorsports kit
