I have the feeling that the Cool Blues will probably be the exact same bulb or quality as the "blue" ones I have in. Like I said all I want is a brighter bulb with a slight blue/white tint.

Silverstars are the next best thing other than HID's.

Cool-blues are not brighter than the Silverstars.

Any of those blue coated Japanese bulbs have decreased lumen output. The blue coating is like sunglasses for your bulbs.

Sylvania are makers of OEM bulbs for cars. Their quality is higher than that of Japanese blue-coloured bulbs.

Hope this helps.

The Silverstars will give you the closest 'actual' colour of an HID, which is pure white. Silverstar 'K' is roughly 4000K, where as OEM HID's are 4300K. Moreover, OEM HID's output is pure white light, it does not emitt blue light - even the "blue" light that BMW's produce is pure white. Rather, it is the optics of the headlight housing, and the way it bends the light, that gives it the appearence of a blue-ish/ purple colour.

Cheers.

I also recommend the Silverstars but suggest you get the Osram rather than the Sylvania (they are the same company). The Sylvania Silverstars have a blue tint whereas the Osram Silverstars are E-spec bulbs and are untinted thereby producing a whiter, somewhat brighter light.

You can get the Osram's from: www.powerbulbs.com

They are a very reliable company and ship your order very quickly. I highly recommend them.

I have Sylvania Silverstars and they're great when there's good weather... But they sux when it rains. They don't reflect the road. SO I'm thinking of replacing them with yellowish all-weather bulbs...
