Sylvania Cool Blue or Sylvania Silverstar?

Ok i've seen silverstars on one my friends car and to be honest, it didn't live up to the hype of "Closest HID look". I've been hearing that the Cool Blue are much brighter and better than the Silverstars however have not seen them personally in a car.

Which out of the two gives MORE (emphasis on more) of an HID look?

COOL BLUE SUCKS.... They're overpriced. Besides, our cars tend to just blow through bulbs like they're goin out of style. Typically I get about 3-4 months out of a bulb before it just decides to stop working.

p.s. The cool blues didn't really look cool, nor blue, nor did they really shed much more light than the stock bulbs.

silverstars definitely. i just put them in my pro the other day. they look good.

How about PIAA aftermarket bulbs? About $60-70.00 but sure seem brighter. I had them in my old 2nd gen 1.5L, anyone tried them in a 3rd gen?

I've been on my "japanese" bulbs for about 7 months now...they are blue and aren't really that bright. I like the colour, I just wanted brighter

the silverstars are good. i've had them on since january. no problems yet. the problem with the h7's is that it's already a good bulb/housing design. to make it any more bright will be hard to do. if you switch out just one stock bulb for a silverstar, you will see a noticeable difference in "whiteness" of the light as compared to the stock. they aren't much brighter, they're just more true of a white light.

I have had the silverstar's in my car since nov of 2002. no problems and they really good on the car.

Well what is the code to a Protege ES bulb again? 9004 or 9008?

tonkabui March-27th-2004 02:45 PM

they're h4's, so i believe they are 9004.

goldstar March-27th-2004 05:20 PM

H4 equivalent is 9003 for the sedan.

i have the piaa super whites in my car and they are much brighter then stock....they look good to

So do you think I should try those cool blues out? They are 2 for 25 bucks at Canadian Tire, they said if I don't like it I can return it for money.

I thought it was 9004...

Matty Mooling March-28th-2004 09:41 AM

its 9003

ZoomZoomBlue March-28th-2004 10:14 AM

Honestly, I wouldn't waste time or money on the Cool Blues. If you buy them, make sure they put it in writing that you can get a refund. Most auto places here in Jersey don't let you return electronics or lights...
