Lightbulb Swap 1.6L to 2.0

so you people say its not good idea to swap engens write? But you all wrong why because now you can buy mazda engene only for $200.00 with transmision and to swap it its super simple because wiring is the same and should be no problem if you know what you are doing and yes then you can upgrade that to Turbo and now you got a lot more power then 1.6L/Turbo.

And why I asked is only because I wonted to know if you people know eneything here but now I see that you only know just a little.

But yes swap is posible and it's why chepper then turbokit and more power for little prise.

about Engens all you have to do is look for smashed mazda or just look on the net people sell them all the time. Also you can try www.copart.com aout action too.

Swapping engines on any car is a bad idea. Trucks are ok, but cars... thats a different story. How is all the wiring the same? Your running almost another 1/2 litre! Besides the fact that the mounts may be off, the suspension may be compromised, and your spending 200 dollars to put a "smashed mazda's" engine in! If I were you, I'd dig deep into the wiring maps, manuals, and everything else about your pro. Don't just trust some shop to put it in either, because you don't know what's going to come out. I know this from experience. I took a 2.5ltr out of a 1994 Sundance Duster and replaced it with a 1.5 ltr w/turbocharger. What a mess. Even if the turbo wasn't on there!

i still dont see how its cheaper to swap, and no you will not see more power from a 2.0, then you will from a turboe'd 1.6

from what i gather from your broken 3rd grade english, your saying buy a 200 dollar 2.0 then turbo it, to see better gaines then the turbo 1.6??? how is that more cost effective then just going turbo on the 1.6 to begin with???

I'm not sure if I can make it.... but if I can I'll be sure to get up there! Right now I'm trying to get all of my Boston Acoustics system out and put in clarion.. mmm clarion. Oh wait.. that has nothing to do with me not making it there. Yah, I'll try to make it! It's up to my command if I am able to go or not! Thanks for the invite!

Red face Swap 1.6L to 2.0L

ok swap is not that bad as you think may bu you are corect but steal making it such a big deal! its just stupid, eney way swap is posible there is not much to it, mounts are the same and yes you will have to change springs. I am not shore why you people make it such a big deal from this, and for my English yes its not profect like yours maybu but I dont realy care because where I can from people only cared for how cool you are they look at your personality and you people are very weard. Thats all I have to say oh and for you all spell checkers I have this to say [edited for language] read this English!

I dont realy wonted to be rude but man all I wonted to hear is what I should do and all I heard is that I should not do that but some dude just told me to go and take a test drive on 2.0L Protege so I did that and I didnt like it! I was very disoponted with it it had sucky tork and power so that's all for my swap and you people should off say same thing and not bitch about it.

Dude. We were just trying to help. If your going to swap anything, swap for a Japanese 4 banger. 170 hp. Otherwise, quit being an *** about things. When people try to help they try to help in the best way they see fit. You flip out on us with your bad spelling and very bad english. Im sorry to say, but its like reading hindu. Anyway- good luck with your "swap"

First of all your language will not be tolerated. Continue and you will be banned. Second, a 1.6L to 2.0L is not simple. The mounts, ecu, harness, tranny are all different. So it is not an "easy" swap. Not cost effective at all. People on this board made simple recommendations so that you didnt spend like $5000 to get 20 extra horsepower(actually only like 15 on the dyno). A turbo kit is cheaper, easier install, and nets higher results. The 1.6L engine responds to boost better and the rods will take more punishment. the limiting factor is the tranny, and a G series wont take much more punishment
