Angry Sunroof no worky

It's been awhile since I've posted, but I just thought I'd share my recent experience. Just over a week ago, I had trouble shutting my sunroof. Eventually, I got it to shut by using one hand on the button and the other assiting the motor on the passenger side. I called the dealership to set up an appointment. They said to bring it in on Monday. I dropped it off Monday morning and here I am, a week later, and still no car.

At least I have a loaner now. Didn't get that until late Tuesday though. The loaner is a 2000 Protege (don't know what trim) equipted with a 1.6L. No offense to owners of similar vehicles, but what a pooch! I can't wait to get the P5 back.

Luckily the repair will be covered under warranty. Less than 5k left on the warranty after 14 months. Only the second issue I've had with the car. The 1st was a faulty window. See a trend?

I'm glad someone can laugh about it

It's nice to know I'm still remembered. I took the GTP out to Cedar Falls Raceway last Friday and it ran like crap. I only lost one of the 5 or so races, though. Despite my horrid runs, a lot of people came up to me impressed by the 4 14.2s and 1 13.9 from the family car.

Back to the P5. . . Monday, I never got around to calling the shop. Tuesday afternoon I call and they try to forward me to the service manager, but I get his voice mail. They gave me the run around instead of telling me, "you're car's ready." So I assume it is still not done. Is it too much to ask for a damn courtesy call? I would be nice to know if they are still waiting on parts or an estimation on when I would get my car back.

If I was in your position I would go down their personally to see what the situation is with the power moonroof. If the dealership is giving you the run around and will not give you a timeframe, that pops so many bulbs up in my mind

Maybe they are trying to hide some other issue that they did incorrectly with your vehicle? I am pretty paranoid when I hand my key off to anyone else, especially the service center. Especially with a standard Ops such as a power moonroof.

Just my two bits.
