Stalling with automatic?

My wifes P5 has about 24k. We recently started driving to work together; thus I am driving the P5. I noticed that when the car is warm and I start it and put it in Reverse or Drive, the RPM's drop to about 300 rpm for about 1 second and then slowly come up to 500rpm and then 750 and settle. Everything is fine except that it dips to 300rpm when I shift to drive or reverse on a warm engine, only. It's not happening all the time, so I am not taking it to the dealer to have them tell me they can't replicate the problem----been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

Suggestions!?

Thanks,
Curt B. Shumaker
