Hey folks. I just found this site & thought I'd pop in for a sec.

I'm 30, and the proud owner of an 02 Protege DX, Pure White, 5 speed, no options & no mods except factory fog lights (installed them myself). It's got about 10k on it, just got back from a road trip to Denver. I love this car & I'm going to drive it until it turns to dust.

I have two quick questions, & if they're dumb newbie questions I apologize. Just direct me to the right place.

First, the stock bridgestone tires are useless in snow. Any other northerners with snow tire suggestions?

Second, how hard is an aftermarket tach install, & where's a good place to put it?

Thanks, Mark.

hello mark and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

welcome.

About the tach, I'm getting one installed this summer. I'm going to purchase a ractive tach. Something small nothing big. If you are really interested in Tachs, try Auto Meter.

Thanks. I have an old AutoMeter tach from another car, but it's one of those chrome ones from like the seventies. (originally bought it for an '84 Mazda B2000 truck, waaay back) I might look for something more up-to-date.
It sucks that they got cheap and didn't put one in the DX, doesn't it? That's my only real complaint (except the cupholders).

And I will be around for Mazda Rev It Up, but watching, not racing... Love going to car shows/races/swap meets/etc.
