simple cai install question

I installed an "ebay" CAI. It came with a rubber piece about 8 or 9" long. (looks just like the "door protector" rubber pieces). Where exactly does this go? I'm guessing around the hole going into the fender to protect from metal hitting metal? this correct?

thanks.

do you already have the crankcase ventilation line replaced?? I've never seen an ebay intake come with a trim guard.

I'm thinking it's used as a kind of seal to insure a tight fit between the piping--you can cut it if you need to or just not use it at all...

another day, another post

I didn't use it , and all the piping fit together nicely. did not use one of the blue "connecters", replaced it with a bypass valve.

only thing missing in the kit was a bracket to support the airflow sensor & another to move the reservior. I got my friend to make one for the sensor and "rigged" the stock bracket for the reservior.
p.s - if i can install a CAI, anyone can

Yo, same here. If you have the mental capacity to put together a coffee table from IKEA, you can install a CAI/SRI.
