Service Manuals

Has anyone bought the factory service manual for the P5?

I would like a full electrical schematic for the car, and was wondering if the manual had a decent one. I haven't check the dealer cost, but I'd assume it to be over $50. Figured I'd ask before I forked out.

service

I've asked about them at the dealer one time. I didn't get an actual price, but I think they're in the ballpark of $100- $130. Maybe Mazda Motorsports sells them for less, or maybe you can get the wiring diagrams photocopied from the dealer. My dealer wouldn't even let me look at the book without supervision- apparently people like to tear pages out.

Will any of the online dealers sale the service manuals for a discount price?

Also, another idea, if someone has the capability to do this, is to scan the service manuals into PDF format then make them available on CD. Here's an example of someone doing this: http://www.ecanfix.com/~manualcd/

I checked: www.factoryautomanuals.com and www.repairmanual.com

No luck. Who knows, it may show up there in the future. Might be worth shooting them some e-mails requests.

Can we say copyright infringement?! If that is in fact what these people have done (their site kept crashing my machine) they better hope Mitsubishi never finds out. Car companies spend big bucks to have service manuals created, hence the big price.

Nope, it's a Backup CD. In order to purchase this CD, you MUST state that you already own the service manual, thus you have the rights to have additional copies of the manual for your personal use. If the purchaser lies then the purchaser is accountable for copyright infringement.

I owned the service manual for my talon, but found the CD to be MUCH more useful when searching for something, or for printing procedural pages to follow while doing a repair. It keeps the book from getting greasy and torn apart.
