Question Seminars/Courses

Has anyone gone to the New Car Owner Course? I received a letter inviting me, and so I signed up. It's not for another 2 weeks, but I'm sort of curious as to what it entails... if anyone's been to it before, please let me know what it's about. I guess either way I should probably go, since it's my first car ever! Still a bit curious though...

Does Mazda offer other courses to new car owners? My dad bought a buick a couple of months back (in the summer), and they've offered a few (either 2 or 3) free seminars already... just wondering if I should expect the same from Mazda.

sorry this has nothing to do with your topic, but in your signature i noticed "tiptronic"
how did you get a porche transmission into your protege? it must have been an expensive mod. definatly custom though.

the "sport-matic" or whatever mazda calls their new auto is nowhere near what porche's tiptronic transmission is. it is not "sequencial" either as some people call it. it is simply an automatic transmission with a different shifter mechanism to trick you into thinking it is somehow more sporty.
if you wish to call it by the wrong name (and wrong manufacturer) then you might as well refer to it as hydromatic, torqueflight, drivelogic, auto-stick, etc.

sorry for the rant, it just bugs me a little

FYI.... The "Activematic" and "Tiptronic" are pretty much the same damn thing. Just one is made by VW AG and one is made by Mazda. I've driven the Tiptronic VW Jetta 1.8T and its not that special. Just annoying to drive.

It's okay.... I thought it was called tiptronic, cause 3 of the dealers I visited when looking to purchase the car, referred to it as a tiptronic transmission. I had no idea what it was other than that you could "sort of" drive standard... I guess I might have to change that then..

I don't know that it's specific to the P5 - it is a course offered by Mazda for new car owners.... Other than that, I don't know what information the course offers...
