Unhappy Saying goodbye to the Mazda

Well its finally going to happen... I'm buying a truck. It's not a done deal yet but 99% positive that it is going to happen. It's going to be an Orange or Red 04 Chevy Colorado LS Z85 Crew Cab. 2WD, Hydra-Matic 4-speed Automatic, Vortec 2800 I-4 175-hp, 185 1b.-ft. of Torque, Automatic locking rear differential, traction control, 3.73 rear gear ratio, ABS, front and side airbags. I was very surprised that this truck handles very well for being a truck. The interior is very similiar to that of my Mazda and I'm pretty sure it's even roomier than it too. Fuel ratings are incredible. People I've spoken to are getting 23-25 mpg. I only paid $100-$200 over dealer invoice. I could tell I was starting to **** the salesman off. I stood firm at what I wanted to pay and he eventually came down almost $40 a month on my payments to where I wanted to be. Even though I'll miss the Mazda I think the truck is going to be a lot of fun. I have lots of plans for this truck and I'm thinking of possibly doing an LS1 conversion on this thing down the road(still a lot research to do on this). If I ever get the urge to do some "spirited driving" I can always take out my girl's 02 Eclipse. Drove it the other day and its incredible. Anyhow I'll definitely be sticking around to see Matty's SC project.

yeah didn't really buy the truck for speed. i was worried about what kind of mpg i would be getting out of it so i configured it to get the best i could (with the exception of the 3.73 gear ratio). chances are after my girl moves in with me in the next couple months i'll be driving the mitsubishi more than the truck.

cool man....trucks are very versital. If you want it, do it. One word to the wise though....when buying a car deal like this.....Sticker price get aslow as possible, then work the trade if any, then interest rate. NEVER work payments...because then they only go to the payment desired, when you could have actually received for less.

Good Luck
Joe

i'll definitaly stick around. this place is what keeps me awake on those boring afternoons at work.
i'm still waiting to here back if he got the orange truck from the other dealer. if i don't get the orange one here's the blue one i will get. first thing i'm going to do is debadge it, remove the pinstripe, and get rid of those crappy general tires. Planning on getting some BFG A/T's if the price is right.

that picture is a lil deceiving, the actual trucks are pretty small, about the same size as the last generation S10 (the colorado replaced the S10), so a 4 cylinder should be sufficient to power it... nice buy, that grille/headlight assembly is slowly growing on me, and the colorado is a pretty well built truck, congrats on the purchase ...

well actually the colorado is considered a midsize truck it's quite a bit bigger than the s10 but yes that picture is deceiving. the vortec engines are very nice and the 4 cyl produces a sufficient amount of power... and it's not a gas guzzler.
