i was wondering if the exhaust, for the 3rd gen protege, was jus the muffler, or the whole exhaust system. is it also bolt- on? wut kind of sound does it give too? I want a deep throaty sound. i want a sound for example, like that of a bmws, very deep, but not too loud. and wut kind of gains i cud expect from it, this isnt reely a priority, since im jus looking for a btter look in the back. i have an 03 p5, im not going to pretend i can beat a mustang or vette like most people who fix up civics or integs with their amazing "vtec", i kno the limits of this car. and if there are also any other suggestions for exhaust that u guys can reccommend, that wud be greatly appreciated.

MSP exhaust is an Axle-Back. lay down near the back of your car. when you look in front of the rear axle, you should see where the muffler bolts up. thats where the MSP muffler connects. its a bolt on job, maybe 25-30 minutes. the power gains are very little, i couldnt even feel the difference of adding it on to my car. other suggestions are the OBX 4-1 header, and get a muffler shop to make you the catback. i think kargoboy has thunder headers.

Yup, and I'm gonna have cat-backs & axle-backs, too (shameless self-plug disguised as a welcome!)

Steuck speaks the truth, though. An axle-back may add 1-2 hp, but it's all about the sound yoiu want.
