re: removing factory intake problem?

I have a general question.

Has anyone else that has removed their factory intake had leaves and other mics. road brush get into their engine bay and burn on top of the valve cover and exhaust manifold? It makes a terrible smell that gets into the HVAC system and burns till you get the stuff out of the engine bay.

This started to happen after I installed my new intake. There is a lot of space available for stuff to get into the engine bay after removing the original intake system. I never had this problem with my 01' ES2.0 with the factory intake system for the 18 months I drove it.

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem?

Thanks

Nope, can't say i have experienced that. I had taken off all the stock intake components up to the MAF, then put a cone K&N filter on with a bracket. The only foreign object that has gotten into my engine bay is maybe a tool or two. But, unfortunately, I don't have my P5 anymore =(
