racing beat & mazdaspeed question??

hi i was wondering if since the racing beat and mazdaspeed exhausts don't fit my 2000 1.6 liter dx protege, would i be able to order it, cut the muffler off the piping, and use the muffler as a universal muffler and just weld it on to my stock piping for looks??

That would work, but you would only need to order the sport muffler or Mazdaspeed muffler. Do a search. This exhaust **** is getting even more complicated with the Mazdaspeed car and its Racing Beet exhaust that says mazdaspeed and is made by Racing beat...etc...

Anyway, if you wanted the look of the Mazdaspeed's or MP3's exhaust you could just get one of the axle back systems and cut that pipe, and then attatch it your stock piping.

Actually, the exhaust on it says racing beat on it. Just like the MP3. Look at Mazda's website. There's a very clear picture of the exhaust. And also, I beleive the racing beat, muffler only, is availiable.

Are you sure you want the Mazdaspeed? They look pretty good but are very very loud inside the car at highway speeds. I've seen so many people on here complain about them and try endlessly to no avail to quiet the interior noise. I say get the Racing Beat one.
