Question regard automobile oil..

do a search.
I fear another dead horse beating contest starting... oil is one of those very opinionated subject that everyone has a 'best way/thing' for, and argue til the cows come home and still have no conclusion...
anyways, as long as you follow the manual and use the proper oil grades, change the oil and filter regularly, you should be good for a long time

The main reason everyone agrues I think is because no one can honestly say one oil is better than another. All they can say is "welp, my engine didn't sieze while I was using it" basically
Opinions are like, well, you know. Everyone has one
My $.02, use what the manufacturer suggests and change it when they suggest and you'll be fine.

I use Amsoil 10w-30 synthetic in my 2001 Protege and it's helped my car run cooler and boosted my MPG by about 4%. Anyways, this oil (and others) run at extended drain intevals anywhere from 7500 up to 25000 miles. It's ILLEGAL for a car manufacturer to void a warranty for using an aftermarket product, even if it alters the maintenance cycle of the vehicle, i.e. the 25000 mile oil change. The only way anyone can get you on that is if they can prove that the car's failure was directly caused by the product you used.
