Question Leaking trunk in -99 Protege

Hi

My cars trunk is leaking water to that point

I made a search about this issue and found out that 1st gen Proteges leak from taillight. And now it seem that this problem considers also newer models

Could anybody tell if there are any other ways for the water to come in?

I've checked and cleaned the trunks sealings but the leak is still there.

So tomorrow i'll check out those (EuroSpec ) taillights

Guess the Mazda Gorilla was busy eating a banana while your car got built.
LOL so I'd better eat by bananas before I'll go to fix my car

I've never even thought that sub-thing, I think You may have a good point in that, thanks

It's hard to tighten them and have them stay put, as there's a rubbery gasket in between that you can't squash too thin, else it'll never work at all when things get a little looser.
Why not get some Lock-Tite. Its a rubber compound you spread on the thread that keeps the nut from backing off. You can still get the nut off though with a little force if needed at a later date.

the nuts were really loose (in both of my cars). I'll try find some lock-nuts (nylon) and replase those stock ones.

But thank you
