Protege Transmissions

I'm trying to figure out what the transmissions are rated for(Max HP) on the 99+ proteges

I need numbers for the:
1.6L
1.8L
2.0L
And the Mazdaspeed

Can anyone help me out?

There arent persay "maximum ratings"...fyi the 1.6L and 1.8L is the same tranny, and the 2.0L and Mazdaspeed is the same tranny..The Mazdaspeed however has the LSD and thicker axles. The differential is usually what grenades on our tranny's. Most guys are blowing up engines before the tranny though.

The Mazdaspeed transaxle also has beefier shift forks as well.

Has anyone figured out yet why the MSP LSD's are popping so often? I really want a spare MSP tranny for my car.

It's the way they are made. The joint at which the LSD attaches to the sprocket is too weak.
