" Pro5 questionaire"

1. Do you have a "stock" intake installed when the noise occurs, or an aftermarket one? (Aftermarket includes a custom DIY intake.)

2. Does the "rattle" cease when the temperature gauge hits the half-way mark (warm-up in other words.)

3. Is the rattle constant? Meaning, does it occur everytime you drive, or just randomly?

4. Have you had taken your Pro5 to the Mazda dealer have'Mazda Certified Mechanic' look at it?

5. What was the result of number 4 (if applicable)?

1. Stock intake (K&N filter though - had the rattle before I installed it).

2. Yes, the rattle stops when the car is warmed up.

3. The rattle occurs every time I start the car and it has been cold out.

4. Not yet.

5. N/A

I had the rattle with my stock intake, and it stayed after I put my Inejn intake on it. So intake is not a factor. Yeah the rattle stops when its warm. It rattles every frealin time. I have not taken it toa dealer becasue it sounds like Mazda doesn't have a fix, and I don't wanna go in there and get all pissed off.

I have tested the problem with both a stock airbox and with a CAI installed with the same noise being present.

2. Does the "rattle" cease when the temperature gauge hits the half-way mark (warm-up in other words.)
Mine rattle will cease before the needle reaches half way. Probably more like when the needle clears the first one or two bars.

3. Is the rattle constant? Meaning, does it occur everytime you drive, or just randomly?
Occurs evertime the engine is cold. It is not intermittent!
4. Have you had taken your Pro5 to the Mazda dealer have'Mazda Certified Mechanic' look at it?
Yes, Mazda has looked at it.

5. What was the result of number 4 (if applicable)?
Mazda stated that they were aware of the problem and would notify me of a fix when it becomes available.
