PINGtastic! track times and other crap.

went to the local 1/8th mile track. it was my first time out there, so i had no idea where to launch the car.

the first pass sucked. hard. i was a tad low on boost *humid as hell*, and went thru 2nd and 3rd seeing only 9.25 PSI.

60 - 2.61 (OUCH)
330 - 6.82
1/8 - 10.24
MPH - 71.85

grrrrrrrrrr... it spun horribly after an initial bog, banged 2nd and spun some more, then noticed a whopping mid-9 PSI of boost. BOOOOOOOO!!! so i turn up the Gillis valve a full turn (which is roughly 2 PSI) and get right back up onto the line.

60 - 2.53 (really starting to **** me off)
330 - 6.55
1/8 - 9.64
MPH - 72.82

something is wrong. i saw a TAD over 10 PSI. this time it spun and i pedalled it some and i cut a tenth off the first 60' time. i get into the pits, turn the **** 3/4 a turn and stage again.

60 - 2.34 (annoyed at how slow it is, but better than a 2.61!!!)
330 - 6.32
1/8th - 9.46
MPH - 75.23

excellent. 11 PSI of boost, i slipped the clutch until 4K and hammered it. now it starting to act right. if i can cut a better sixty foot time, i should be into the low 9s. stage again...

i spun bad on the 4th pass, went to 2nd and heard "The Spraycan". i let out and drove thru the traps and back to the pits. the stock intercooler can kiss my ***. it was heatsoaked, and i detonated a bit at the torque peak in 2nd.

so i ordered some colder copper NGKs and i am going to get a front mount made here at work. hopefully i can knock out an 8 second 1/8th mile pass without the Haltech or race gas! its going to be tough, but ****, warranty covers halfshafts.

sweet times need to work on that 60 ft though it really is what makes a big diffrence. My best run on the 1/8 is a 9.96 with a 60ft of 2.12 of course mine is stock and you are running a boost controller I assume.....

yes, a gillis valve (manual controller) and a JoeP FCD. JoeP is the man.

i am getting some NGK coppers tomorrow, and see it that helps some. i need a new front mount as well.

the traction sucked, all the VHT was going to the 'stangs. my home from home (DFWstangs) had its track day today. if the MSP was rear wheel, i would hooked like a ****!
