She even tried to drive away the bitch. ...
The same thing happened to me once for my old car (1994 Corolla).
I went to a video rental store with my wife. I parked my car where there is absolutely no car around closer than 7 feet. We went into the store. 7 minutes later, a nice guy rushed into the store and asked about who is the owner of a blue Corolla. He told me someone just did a hit-&-run on my car.
I rushed out, almost ran out of the store with all the empty video cases I was planning to rent.
The guy told me what happened.
It was a gold color Ford Ranger that hit the side of my car. She was parked about half a basket-ball court away from my car. She did a 90 degree back-up turn when she pulled out of the parking space and hit the passenger side of my Corolla.
When the back of her truck hit me, she must be already 3 times the distance of her truck away from her truck's original position. Any car could have enough space already to drive away.
Later, we found out the truck that hit me just went to the parking lot of a grocery store across the street. I rushed there on foot. As soon as I reach the truck I saw this blue hair fat lady with nose ring and all the finger & toe nails all painted black walked out of the grocery store towards her bumper stickers covered Ford Ranger.
She looked at me in a strange face expression as if she could pretend nothing had happened.
As soon as I asked her everything, she kept say she knew nothing and thought that her engine just stalled.
Nice try, the cops were already there thanks to the nice guy that saw everything. The cops took care of everything afterwards. I was luck that she wasn't one of those bastards that drives around with no insurance.

The worst part is she can't equate "my child is crying/needs attention and I have to resolve it while driving" with "I am willing to risk the lives and property of others (and hers) to solve a non-emergency". Pisses me off, but hey it's just like gun ownership in this country...it's a right, not a responsibility.
You know the sad part? In the state of Florida, without car insurance you can:
  • be a licensed driver
  • cause an accident
  • not be faulted for causing the accident
  • not be cited for having no insurance
  • still make a claim to the insurance company of the person you hit
  • increase the insurance premiums of the person you hit who was responsible enough to have full coverage in the 1st place and paid your claim

Whatta wonderful world.

Looking through the thread, I was going to ask if you guys are required to have insurance there in FL, but you covered that with your last post....

Over here in CA it's illegal to drive without insurance (although people do, but ya know)

Here's some more fuel to the fire. In FL, you are deemed running a red no matter what the situation is or where you are in the intersection if the light is red. So I have no case against her because of about 2 seconds difference in the cycle of the light. Ain't that a bitch?
