P5 Electrical Problem

Hi all,

I've been reading the forum here for quite some time. So far I have been able to find whatever information I have needed by searching, but I'm not sure what to even search for with my current situation.

I was attempting to remove my factory head unit and I seem to have upset something electrical in the car. My first attempt at the removal yesterday was unsuccessful. I was at work at the time and didn't take the time to put everything back together. On my way home the stereo no longer worked, I figured that I had dislodged the wiring harness. I went out today and couldn't find an issue with the wiring harness but I did notice a number of other issues:

1. The odometer no longer stays on when the ignition is in the "Lock" or "ACC" positions when the door is open

2. Both trip odometers are reset / not working

3. My keyless entry no longer works (power locks still do)

4. On turning the key from "On" to "Lock" the odometer flashes shows "77" and then goes blank

5. Stereo still does not work

Car details: '03.5 P5, manual transmission, 92,000 miles, perimeter alarm factory installed

The car still starts and runs just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Jason

Fixed it

Fixed the problem, I must have something in removing the radio. The "Room" fuse was blown, turns out there is quite a variety of components on it. I hadn't even noticed the interior lights not working until it got dark out.

hey, good job, you found the problem! one thing i always do is disconnect the battery, saves a bunch of problems....and if you do have an issue always start with the fuses...get yourself a multimeter too!
