Question p5 air intake systems

I just bought a protege 5 and I love it. The only problem is the pep. I also own a 67 mustang with 350hp so I'm used to a little more than the 130hp stock my protege has. Anyways, I am looking at buying a cold air intake system and I see some at my import dealers' for like $150-200. I then see some on ebay for like $25-50. Has anybody ordered these ebay intake systems? If so how was the install/fit?

I have an e-bay CAI. It was something like $40 plus shipping. The materials are great. Good filter, quality pipe and it actually fit correct. 2 problems, concerning the couplings that go from the MAFS to the pipe, one on the left and one on the right. I only got one, not two and the one I got was too small to fit over the opening on the MAFS.

I look at it this way, if you have the cash, go ahead and get the name brand ones. I've seen the K&N Typhoon and it amazing, really amazing. In Canadian dollars its $100 for e-bay vs $300 name brand. Fudge that.

I got the couplings I needed at the Home Depot. All is good now.

i also have both the Ebay SRI and the AEM intake...I actually like the Ebay SRI better....I think FC3Sboy is a little biased since he's selling a competing product at almost 3 X's the cost of the ebay intake.

I hope youre not expecting whole lot of "pep" after adding just an intake. If anything it actually loses a little "pep" at the low end.

yeah I noticed the loss of low-end grunt with my ebay SRI...however, my 1/8th mile times dropped a consistant .2s.....I'm not saying the two are related....it's just funny how that worked out.
