Noisy Reverse?

My MP5 is really noisy in reverse (5-speed). Is this normal? This is the first Japanese car I have owned and some tell me this is normal. The car only has 700 mi on it.

Most cars are usually noisy in reverse. If you are unsure take it to the dealer.

I noticed mine was pretty noisy (compared to other cars) too, but I didn't think anything of it. It must be normal.
