I went Laguna Seca's CART race this weekend. MADZA which sponsors the circuit had a display setup. NO Mazdaspeed Protege, but I did pickup a brochure. It has a picture of the GARRETT T25 Turbo, Sparco short shift and 17' Racing Hart wheels.. It also has the "full specs" list.

If you want information contact :www.mazdausa.com/mazdaspeed
or call 1-800-639-1000

Later, Speedbump

PS. They also had some COOL Mazdaspeed clothing.... it was NOT for SALE yet, as they are still determing just what to do with it... Although I did pickup a MASZDASPEED front window decal for my Protege5.

I'd say something like a mid-low 15

MazdaSpeed Protegé5 = 170HP (est)

my Pro5 has 130 stock + 50hp NX Shot = 180 HP (est), but I dont have an LSD and my stock tires suck, I ran a 15.4, I could do better though.

:sqiunt: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I guess I'll need that new clutch and a 75 just to make sure I beat these ho's

Question MazdaspeedProtege

Just a shot in the blue, I have been reading Motortrend/CarandDriver/SCC for several years and my guess would be a 0-60 time in approx. 7-7.3 sec. range and 1/4 mile time of approx. 15.1-15.5 sec. @ approx. 91-94 mph. No engines make exactly the same horsepower, so these are just guesstimates. Only time will tell. A little bit of turbo toys and that thing is well capable of a flat 14, if you get the fronts to hook-up when boost hits hard. My only question would be if that Garrett T-25 and plumbing will fit on the 1.8 that came in 99-00?

I don't see why it wouldn't fit the 1.8L. If you ever put a 2.0L and 1.8L side by side with their hoods open, only a trained eye (most of us on here) will be able to tell the difference. I e-mail Tripoint Engineering regarding their turbo for the 2.0. The response I got back said it will fit the 1.8L without a problem, but the bumper-mounted intercooler will only fit the MP3 and Protege5 front bumpers.
