New guy on the block

Hi everyone,

Decided to look here, was looking for some information and topics/people looks interesting so I decided to join up and see how good you all really are

I own a 2001 silver LX 2.0 protege, did alot of road with it (will be 60k km within 2 years) and the freakin thing haven't broke a nail yet, despite all the beating she got .. but well, I'm feeding her with Castrol Syntec 5/50, so I'm giving it a chance

Everyday I'm more and more a mazda person (used to be a real VW fanatic), as my 2 next car buys are a Mazda6i with the full options package + 220HP 6cylinder engine, and a 3rd gen rx-7 (when I have a place I can repair it, I'll buy it ).

A little personnal information ..

I live in Hull, Quebec, Canada (near Ottawa), working in computer stuff, I am a car person, finishing my Bachelor this semester.

I am the kind of person that will create sleepers when I can get my hands on somethign worthy .. for 2 reasons:

1 - it's way funnier to see people's face when you finally push on it and they see they totally understimated you
2 - less cops on your back

for example, my fav kill was this guy owning a Honduh SI that had blue-tinted windows, clear lights, fart pipe, lowered suspension, etc;
I've got 2 feets of advance withing 3 seconds, then he could never catch on me until we caught up with other cars ^_^

I have also the tendency to write long posts

Well, that's it for now!

HEY SOX!! and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

I too am an old VW nut....but none of this water cooled crap....I am an air cooled VW rodder.....if that is/was your frote.....I have done my fair share of "sleeper" action in my 65 bug....lol.

thanks everyone

Nuke - I'm too young to have had the chance to drive those nice little bugs(only 23), I just happened to like my first car (a Jetta 85 GL) very much

as for the info, I already found answers to 2 questions I was pondering with:

- Rattle when engine is cold (wanted to see if what the mecanos told me was true -- it was)
- where the cut-off was; I thought mine went up after bad treatment, but found out everybody's else was @ 7050 too

nice smileys and all, friendly people, nice place you got here guys.
