Miata Block

I searched and found no real conclusive answers on this one....
A junk yard by my house has a 1.8 Block up for grabs, The guy said it came from a 95 Miata (So its a BP for sure). Its just the block, nothing more, nothing less. So my question is, is the Miata block the same as a Pro's???? I ask just cuz of the obvious drivetrain difference between the two.

Thanx Ppls!!!

That particular block is identical to the 90-94 Proteges' DOHC block. (I'm too unfamiliar with the 2nd Gen.'s 1.8s to be sure about those, however).

You'd have to change ECUs. I dont see any benefit.
So, I would need the ECU and Coil w/wires?? Cuz he will throw that in for free if I buy the block. I thought coils were more powerful than a disty?

Don't forget, your existing harness will require somewhat major modification, or you'll need a different harness if you end up having to use the Miata ECU.
