Short ram or CAI. And I assume you're talking $150 USD. That's like 1 million CDN $

Seriously though, anybody know how much the AEM short ram costs in Canada?

$310!! Ouch....still cheaper than the $343 I was quoted. I wonder if I could just Home Depot a short ram intake together?? Oh well.... Thanks for the info!

I've found a lot from online retailers. With shipping I've found they vary from about $280 to $300 cdn.

I'm starting to consider making my own CAI now. I'm getting a lot of idea from some people on here...???

Doc

I'm thinking of going "Home Depot Style" and also making my own.

I think it would be fairly easy making a short ram style intake a la AEM stlye:

(Thanks for the pic Nightowl!)

I'm just worried about the connection to the MAF and then to the throttle body.

If you guys can hold on a little while, I will be getting intakes from Vibrant Performance.

They are currently on a 6-week backorder, but I WILL be getting them - and the price is nice - I'll be able to get them for $129 SHIPPED!

These are short-ram style, but they are a bit longer than the AEM - the filter is positioned close to where the Injen CAI enters the fender.

They come in Polished, Blue, and Red.

I will be posting more info as in the coming weeks - and I might be able to get us a few more bucks off if I can sell a bunch of them - I have 4 willing buyers right now, plus me is 5 - I'm hoping to be able to get some deposits, so I don't have to shell out a lot of "inventory" cash, but whatever - I will definitely have them for sale.

Think end of June/early July.

Anyone interested send me an email, post, or shoot me a PM, and I will add you to my "interested in the Vibrant intake" list.

Aaron, I think the Vibrant intakes will be as good as any other.

Fact is, all the intakes for the Pro's are basically the same (either shorty or Cold Air). These from Vibrant certainly seem up to par with the others from Injen, AEM, etc. I will try to get some pics to post soon.

Vibrant is also coming out with an exhaust for the P5 - they actually did a lot of research and dyno testing, and found that they got the best performance from an AXLE back system, rather than a cat-back. According to their dyno tests, they achieved 4 HP at the wheels with an axle-back AND a cat-back system - so they are only developing the axle-back to keep the price down - why sell a whole cat-back pipe if it is not necessary? Sounds good to me.

Keep an eye on the board for info about the intakes - and I will also be actively looking into the exhaust. I will keep updating - actually, once I get down to the business of actually placing an order for the intakes, I will probably post in a new thread. Email me if you want me to send the info directly to you as I get it (that goes for anyone interested).

These look like they are going to be the cheapest intakes yet for our cars - other than dryer duct, of course - and it looks like the quality is just as good as the others.
